CASA CANAAN'S URGENT NEEDS

Three year old Llovany, his mother and baby sister were found in the street  after his father had severely beaten him.

Llovany spent over a month in the hospital with traumatic brain injury leaving him unable to walk or speak.   We need to take this young boy to Mexico City for evaluation and possible treatment.

Three year old Jime has Spina bifada.  If we can get him surgery while he is young,  he will never have to live in a wheelchair.  We need to get him to Mexico City for this operation.

Yara is a fully certified teacher and is responsible for the education of all the Casa Canaan children.  The beginnings of a school house have begun.  The estimation of the building's completion is approximately $10,000 US dollars.

The boy's housing is in desperate need of repairs.  There are windows without glass and  no heat.  Casa Canaan is located in the mountains and the nights get very cold.   Additionally most of the boys are sleeping on floor mats as there are not enough beds.

This is the main house.  It's construction was placed on hold when more and more children came to live with the Ruiz family.  There is only one small gas tank (pictured next to the washer) to provide hot water.  As a result, everyone takes cold showers and Yara's one washing machine sits outside next to her kitchen.  We would like to purchase two new hot water heaters large enough to sustain  their many needs.

You can imagine the amount of laundry necessary for twenty four people.   Yara needs a proper laundry room with a dryer.  In the rainy months their clothing stays damp.

In addition to the more urgent needs listed above, the family would greatly benefit from consistent financial supportYou could help relieve the pressure they experience from feeding 24 mouths at every meal, clothing 22 children, and paying all the bills.
